Soccer on the Beach 2006
May 25, 2006Run by the Hewlett House Outreach Program and the OneInNine Corporation, Our Soccer on the Beach is a non-profit event for charity, The One In Nine Organization. It will take place on June 24, 2006 on the beach between Riverside Blvd and Long Beach Road in Long Beach.
This is their 13th year and they have 500 kids playing tournament ball. The event is run by Noga Soccer Camps and they donate all their services. This year will have Brian Kilmeade from Fox TV-He anchors on Sunday mornings-he played in the very first tournament and will be bringing a team-They have many vendors up on the boardwalk that donate their proceeds and a health fair as well. The proceeds this year will go to Cold Spring Harbor Lab. and South Nassau Communities Hospital. Also for our Hewlett House outreach programs. The grant is on going for breast and all cancers named after a boy who died from Cancer. The Michael Scott Barish Memorial Human Cancer Grant. The event will get around 50,000 spectators. Bleaches are set up- there is plenty of food and fun-a showmobile with a DJ,live entertainment and awards. It runs from 8AM to 5pm.
